Woodland Cane
This was one of my favorite projects. My client had whittled a cane for a friend who had a severely broken leg. After he was finished, he decided the handle looked like a duck. A man with a vision! He asked me to paint half of the handle/head as a mallard and the other half as a woodcock. Being an avid outdoorsman, he wanted the rest of the cane to be a woodsy scene including a buck and a doe.

Of course now whenever we go on hikes we'll be looking for another perfect stick like this one!

Rabbit Walking Stick
SOLD
I bought this unfinished walking stick at the Covered Bridges Festival in Indiana. The type of wood is unknown but it comes from Clark County, Kentucky. I loved the look of the bark so I decided to leave it, but when I looked at the spot that was stripped...I saw a rabbit. Next I added a grey squirrel and some flowers. The handle is embellished with fancy yarn, ribbon, beads and a peace sign.
